Media Ed Gallery
The only reason I was able to make this website was because of my Media Ed lessons! Adding in my lessons in here will not only take you through all the things I'd learnt to build this website, but allow me to refer back to this page to refresh my memory! Find out more about the things taught in Media Ed right here! :>(pictures related to Media Ed will be temporarily used until there are lessons to upload.)
in the meantime, click this button to learn more about me!! (if you haven't been there yet)
Term 1:
Lesson 01: Media Ed
What is Media?
The main means of passing information to a large number of people, or mass communication.
Why study the Media?
-
We are exposed to all types of media everyday, both traditional and new.
-
We must understand the effects of media on audiences so that we can be both informed consumers and responsible producers of new media.
An video of the introduction to Media Literacy can be found here
Lesson 02: Why study Media and Digital Literacy?
Having these life skills are necessary for full participation in our media-saturated, information-rich society.
Making responsible choices and access information by locating and sharing materials and comprehending information and ideas is important in this technology based society.
Analysing messages in a variety of forms by identifying the author, purpose and point of view, and evaluating the quality and credibility of the content helps us gain new perspectives and stay vigilant online at the same time.
Creating content in a variety of forms and making use of language, images, sound, and new digital tools and technologies can broaden the possibilities and aid artists.
Reflecting on one’s own conduct and communication behaviour by applying social responsibility and ethical principles can help foster important values in the real world as well.
Taking social action by working individually and collaboratively to share knowledge and solve problems in the family, workplace and community, and by participating as a member of a community

First-Rate Materials
We have strict standards when it comes to what we produce and never compromise on quality. This is especially true when it comes to the first-rate materials we use. Our customers deserve the highest level of products on the market, and we work tirelessly to maintain those standards.
Here is a Website Review I was told to do in Media Ed:
The website we chose was Taylor Swift’s official website. I was initially shocked by how little information there was, but I quickly saw how neat and tidy it looked, which made me realise that simplicity is the key. Taylor’s website also had a clear colour scheme which lined up to her newly released album colours (grey, dull gold and black), which furthermore advertises her album. From this, I’ve learnt that using certain colour schemes for my website that link to what I’m trying to advertise helps the viewers connect the website to whatever I’m trying to offer. The font of the words also stays the same so it isn’t an eyesore to look at. There are different sized words, though I was drawn to the bigger ones. I also noticed the words that were bigger were the more important ones. From this I learnt that increasing the word size meaningfully draws the attention of the viewers to your main point. In her shop, there are a lot of products that show an up close image of the product when your mouse hovers over it, telling me more about the product without using words or making me click on the product.
